latestarter2 0 Posted September 9, 2006 Well...Job done and NO bits left over!!!! Mega thanks once again to Graham and John at Volkscars for the great response.. :D :D :D RESULT!!!!!!!!!!
latestarter2 0 Posted October 5, 2006 saga continues...had what look like an expansion tank leak last week. Had the local garage do a check and they have come back saying that the tank isnt split, its just the pressure vent at the back of it doing its job apparently..(shows how much I know!!) However they then went onto say it would appear that the head gasket may have gone instead!!! Seems the water was contaminated with combustion gases?? So just given Volkscars the good news.. see what happens now! 205 still going great by the way..lol and thats 21 years old
DaveStorm 0 Posted October 5, 2006 Doesn't sound like you're having much luck with this Corrado, my patience would be wearing thin by now if I were you. Hope it's just coincidental that you've had all these probs and that they haven't sold you a dud, as I'm sure you'll have paid top whack for it! Let's hope that the guys don't diagnose head gasket failure as well and that they can finally get it running properly for you, all the best.
latestarter2 0 Posted October 5, 2006 Well as i said before...things go wrong but its how its dealt with that counts isnt it. :D So far Volkscars have been very good- As for patience wearing thin??..yes it will be good to have the car running properly as i paid £6.9k for it but at least it means i get to use the PUG gti which is great fun too believe me.. There's a boy racer in all of us i guess..
VR enthusiast 0 Posted October 9, 2006 Sorry to hear about your problems, hopefully you'll get it all sorted v. soon I picked up the Dragon Green VR6 (78k miles) with Electric Recaros about a month ago, so far no problems to report although after collection I noticed that there is a small chip in the windscreen and one of the alarm sensors is hanging off, small points which I should have noticed upon viewing, but from a dealer would have been nice if these had been sorted. Anyway, it runs beautifully and so far I've loved every second of owenership, its good to hear that the guys in Kinver should sort me out if I do get any problems..... latestarter2 0 Posted October 11, 2006 Really!!...That's a nice car. I looked at that one looked very nice..plumped for the leather interior in the end though. Perhaps i'd have been better going for your one..lol!!
VR enthusiast 0 Posted October 11, 2006 Yeah I know what you mean, would have been to get one with Leather but the low miles won me over - might put leather in it at a later date if funds allow....
latestarter2 0 Posted October 28, 2006 Well the head gasket is now being replaced (explains the water loss) and hopefully the heater switches too (i cant de mist anything yet).. be nice to ba able to use the car ...lol At the moment i look at it as the car is in storage not at a garage being fixed again...that way i remain chilled. So cross fingers and Graham will have performed miracles!!
Rustynuts 0 Posted November 2, 2006 No wonder they have to sell the cars for so much, just to cover the warranty work they have to do. Even though they are just down the road from me I have never been to see what cars they got. Prob something to do with not having the cash to spend. latestarter2 0 Posted November 5, 2006 Well the gasket is done...and heater controls replaced..seems the fan speed prob is a faulty resistor on the heater motor itself still waiting for that tho..still we are getting there.
latestarter2 0 Posted November 27, 2006 Well..its now the end of November...i reported the faulty heater controls at the beginning of September..when the ignition switch failed and the heater matrix collapsed within a week of ownership I left it with them for 2 weeks at the end of october..to replace the head gasket and fix the heater its been off the road for 9 weeks out of the 12 ive owned for one reason after another.(fan doesnt work at all now so the screen wont de-mist) And ive now waited over 2 weeks for a replacement heater resistor to be posted to me...hopefully i'll have it by the end of this week? Still remaining calm..but deffo not a good introduction to Corrado ownership!!
latestarter2 0 Posted November 30, 2006 Well enough is enough..ive fitted the new heater resistor pack but that hasnt solved the problem and now the bloody wipers arent working either!!!!! So ive given it to a local vw specialist to sort it once and for all rather than trek back and forth up north again!!..teed off now!!
nemesis360 0 Posted September 28, 2007 Hi Gareth, Ive only just read this thread, just to make it clear to everyone Im not employed by Volkscars, i have done work for them in the past including the work I carried out on your car. All parts were supplied by them, and any issues about the heater controls or motor should have been delt with by them. unfortunatly this obviously wasnt the case. I was not informed of any further problems and I would have been happy to help you if requested by Volkscars or yourself. Im sorry you have had a bad experience with your car and I would be happy to help you if you require any more assitance in the future. Graham
wazza 0 Posted September 28, 2007 Guys, Just read through this thread, and would like to think you just got really unlucky with your car. Mine is from Volkscars and its been brilliant, can't fault it, nor can i fault their after-sales care and advice when i've asked for it. Its worth bearing in mind that these cars aren't new, and things do go wrong from time to time! Waz

Graham graham i have no issues with your support and never have done mate, you were great. My beef at the time was the fact i had paid nigh on 7k for a car that had so many problems right from the day i bought it. I was and still am impressed by your speed of response and the fact you were prepared to come down on your day off and fix the issues..brilliant. People on here should use you for their work as all the work you did for me was great. I can only assume I was unlucky and got the car that in the end needed so much remedial work done on it. nemesis360 0 Posted October 1, 2007 Thanks Gareth, I just wanted to make sure people didnt think I work for Volkscars, it was not ment to have a go at you in any way as Im sure you understand. I was happy to do the work on your car, you are a really nice chap and I must say a bacon sarny waiting at the door when I arrived was the crowning moment!!! As I said if you want any assistance in the future please give me a shout. Graham
