fla 9 Posted August 1, 2006 For some reason my car wants to change up to 4th very soon ie at below 2000 rpm so it ends up labouring and I have to manually shift it to 3rd and then to D (for 4th). Anyone else had this problem? I did an autobox reset through VAGCOM a while back but it doesnt seem to have done much. Its the 096 box without the sports mode. Supercharged 2 Posted August 2, 2006 Have you checked the fluid level?
fla 9 Posted August 2, 2006 Level seems fine, colour also looks ok, no untoward smells. I might change the fluid again although i gave it to a garage about 12 months back for a fluid & filter change, which, i get the feeling, they might not have done. mehtasvr6 0 Posted August 3, 2006 if level looks okay, must have been changed espically if odourless, have you had the auto boxed checked?
fla 9 Posted August 3, 2006 Not really - what would the check involve? Is it anything that can be initially assessed myself? What could/should i look for in VAGCOM?
mehtasvr6 0 Posted August 4, 2006 take it a auto specialist and have them check the torque convertor, bands, linkages
NjA666 0 Posted August 4, 2006 .........if you need any bits, let me know as I have a spare 096 box and associated bits...... The whole lot is for sale and was totally re-furbed in 2003. She's been stood a while now but was all ok prior to the removal. Regards, Neil.
