double-6s 0 Posted August 11, 2006 I was just wondering what a vr air-con system might be worth second hand. Complete system. Working and recently charged. Anyone any thoughts on value? And what about heated black leather in good nick with loom etc? 600? Or is that a bit much? Cheers :)

dinkus 10 Posted August 12, 2006 I sold my working AC system from my last VR for £250 which seemed reasonable at the time. I've been kicking myself about selling it ever since I got my current C, so if you are selling yours I'd be very interested. I suspect that without some kind of magical physics-defying technique, that you won't get the whole system out including the gas and possibly not without having to cut a hose. £600 sounds about right for the leather tho. kongo127 0 Posted August 15, 2006 I was wondering what´s involved to put a A/C system on my Corrado which doesn´t have it. Is it possible, fairly easy? DIY job? Has anyone done this before?
dinkus 10 Posted August 15, 2006 It's a completely different system that was used on the RHD cars, so no idea I'm afraid. LHD cars had a factory-fitted option, which may or may not be harder to fit. Essentially you need... Compressor Radiator Drier Pipework to link all of the above But it's a little more complicated than that
kongo127 0 Posted August 15, 2006 Hmmm... As long as i know it´s possible, even being slightly difficult, i´ll go for it! My father bought a beach house in the south, and the trip without AC is very wet! :onfire:
double-6s 0 Posted August 15, 2006 And it's gonna be cool but slow with it mate :)
kongo127 0 Posted August 15, 2006 Slow? Will i feel the engine stuck when AC on?
double-6s 0 Posted August 15, 2006 Yeah you'll feel the power being sucked away for sure mate. It's simple though - if you're going fast enough to worry about the power, there will be enough air coming through the windows to cool you so forget the air-con :)
kongo127 0 Posted August 15, 2006 Thanks for the advice mate! :) But... :onfire:
