blown fuse

Recommended Posts

hi all, my fog lights have been blowing fuses continually since i got the car. i finally got round to investigating and found that the wire to the front left fog was jammed between the bumper and the front bit(not sure what it is called). anyway sorted that out but fuse still blew

then 1 disconnected the two front and tried again, the back were on ok

2 tried it with one front and it was also ok

3 joined both front on and the fuse blew again lol

4 put in a 20a instead of the 15a and seemed ok

so the question is, will it be ok to keep the 20a in or am i risking more damage or even fire?

any advice would be great or if anyone in or near glasgow who is good with these sort of things would like to help i'd be really grateful (but not like that)

many thanks in advance martin

This may be a red herring as I can't remember the symptoms if this happens.

Does your outside temp sensor reading indicate correctly? It's not unknown for the right hand fog and temp sender connectors to get crossed over (the wiring is colour coded but the connectors fit both ways)

Paint shop did it to my valver once; obviously the fog won't light up, but can't remember if it takes any fuses out. Might be worth a look see.
