PhillT 0 Posted August 27, 2006 ok guys, I've spent over an hour searching and can't find much to help  (I'm sure someone else is going to post a link straight away knowing my luck! lol) basically, now got a 1.8 16v rado, going to use it as my daily driver while I sort the IHI engine out and my Mk1 but it's got a running problem when cold, for the first 5 minutes or so, if I give it any throttle it's really lumpy, and chokes alot anyone had this problem before? also know what the fuel pressure should be? (going to check the pressure tomorrow but I know it's not a pressure problem as I've had loads of pressure problems on the Mk1 before) thanks in advance for any help you guys can give :thumbleft:
h100vw 0 Posted August 28, 2006 They run pretty bad when the warm up regulators are dead. FP should be 68-78 lbs. You need to monitor it from stone cold and there is a special pressure gauge for doing K-jet incase you didn't know. Allows you to monitor control pressure as well as system pressure by opening and closing a valve. The Haynes for a MK1 or MK2 has a small graph telling you what the pressures should be at various ambient temps. Gavin
