big_chris1981 0 Posted September 10, 2006 just wondering how much people pay for a 10K service? (oil/filter and sump plug change + inspection) idle curiosity thats all.
Storm_Man 0 Posted September 10, 2006 Peter Cooper do a motivate / annual service for £99 or £199 I believe. I rang around a few places for a friend who needs to service his MK4 GTI and Peter Cooper were the cheapest out of the people I called!!! I didn't expect a VW dealership to be cheaper than independent garages!
Dr Forinor 0 Posted September 10, 2006 Erm, I know someone who knows the guy at my local VW garage, I got my last service (including oil and oil filter change, front brake pads swapped [labour only] and brakes bled) for £90... including the VW stamp in my book, lol. Jim 2 Posted September 10, 2006 Not sure.. every time I have a service done on my cars, there is always something else that needs doing! Never seem to have a normal bill! :)
ZippyVR6 0 Posted September 10, 2006 My local guy does em for about 80 quid, plus whatever he finds wrong. Id trust him with any dub. He is an ex dub mechanic who left to do his own thing and is in the process of putting together a Mk1 trqck day car. Top bloke.
big_chris1981 0 Posted September 10, 2006 so, £80 is a reasonable price for an idependant?
mattosmond 0 Posted September 12, 2006 sounds like a pretty good price...
Jay2 0 Posted September 12, 2006 To give you some idea mate, had mine fully serviced at C&R Enterprises at Nottingham when I first bought my C. Ended up with a bill for £260! Nothing major done to it either. Itemised bill showed I'd been charged £1.25 for emery paper and £2 to top up my screenwash, on top of the £50 an hour labour rate.
