Its only a problem if i wind it up in 1st gear, any idea's? im running a solid front engine mount. Maybe the other mounts are fecked? steveo29 0 Posted September 16, 2006 2nd gear syncro worn out?? is it worst on a cold morning? gets better with a hot engine? does it crunch if you move the stick slower
Riley 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Hi m8,it dosnt give the impession of a worn synch...No better or worse when the car is up to temp. Its as though the clutch isn't engaging properly or fast enough :? Just wont go in 2nd gear at all if i wind it up in 1st... Hardly drive like that but its pretty annoying knowing the problem is there. Thinking about it,i dont think worn engine mounts would have this effect being a hydraulic clutch rather than a cable that would move/stretch? Neil. steveo29 0 Posted September 16, 2006 my gearchange/gearbox isnt as sweet as id like it from my experiance, new mounts do make a improvement to the quality of gearchange...although i cant see it picking out 2nd gear especialy mine often crunches badly into 2nd , ive always assumed the syncro was past its best
Riley 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Aye,can see why that sounds like the syncro m8 :( Mine just dosnt go in gear at all until i back off and try again..Never crunches at all actually going into 2nd at normal driving speeds or giving it a Bit of stick...Just a pronblem when really winding it up :( Neil. steveo29 0 Posted September 17, 2006 might be worth trying the mounts then have you ajusted the cables and made sure the lever is central? it should push straight into 3rd from neutral without any side movment to be fair everything ive done related to mine made a small change, ive done mounts, new bushes on the gearstick and gearbox end, redline mt90 and the shifter wieght...and regreased everything *edit and its worth looking for slack/movement all over the place, i found places where i could fit a thin washer to take up some slack, seemed to help a little
Walesy 0 Posted September 17, 2006 I know it allways gets said, but have you checked the circlip on the lever under the gator dude?
Riley 0 Posted September 17, 2006 Cheers guys...Not sure what to look at really. :( The clutch pedal seems to feel a bit soft in the mornings but the level is always fine... Goes straight into 3rd gear no messing when sat standing. And yep the ol' circlip is there walesy m8. Cheers,Neil. :)

Supercharged 2 Posted September 17, 2006 Riley, just get an Eezibleed kit, hook it up and bleed thru the nipple on the slave....
Riley 0 Posted September 17, 2006 Cheers m8  The slave is the one on the bulk head right? wont affect the brakes will it? in fact,is the slave the one bolted to the box? bloody hydraulic shite  Neil. :)
Supercharged 2 Posted September 17, 2006 Nope thats the master! Slave is on the gearbox - look for the flexi pipe going to it...
