2corrados 0 Posted September 18, 2006 Hi New to this so bear with me while I ask what might seem like a really silly question. I have to replace the rings on my vr6 (my 16v is good tho). Is this possible with the engine in ie remove head and sump, or am I gonna have to take the whole thing apart. Any help greatly appreciated. DS

CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted September 18, 2006 Why are you changing the rings? are your bores in good nick? I have just used VW but there are plenty aftermarket suppliers Eurocarparts charge £31.50 per piston.
2corrados 0 Posted September 18, 2006 changing due to low compression on no 5 so thought would do them all at once. doing a leak down test next week to confirm, but she's not well at the moment. done valve stem seals, but think there is still a problem there, will see how it goes. she has done 160k now, but still mint, so i think it's worth doing
