potatonet 0 Posted September 19, 2006 ok so my fuel pump is acting up and staying on when the car is off. I can hear it in the back, is the relay fried or the pressure switch or the fuel pump itself? just eats my battery up so starting in the morning is uber bad, I have no power leaks. dr_mat 0 Posted September 19, 2006 How long does it run on for? IIRC this is normal when you switch the engine off hot. Same for the fans and the leccie water pump (on the VR).
ReekieVR 0 Posted September 19, 2006 Is there 1 circuit which controls the aux water, fuel and fans run-on or do they do it by themselves ?
G60BOV 0 Posted September 19, 2006 I have the same problem and i hope someone can help...... I switched my car off about 2 hours ago and i went out to give the old dear a wash, but i heard my fuel pump going and my radiator fan going!!!! Anybody got any ideas? potatonet 0 Posted September 19, 2006 Thing turns on randomly, one time it was on in the freezing cold night, couldnt figure it out for the life of me, so its definitely not the pressure switch? keeps EATING my battery gonna try a relay and see what happens I guess, damn mail order BS parts. dr_mat 0 Posted September 19, 2006 IIRC the run-on circuit is in the black box with the fuses in it that sits just in front of the expansion tank.
kongo127 0 Posted September 20, 2006 dr_mat is correct! This is the After-Run circuit that operates a couple of minutes after you switch of the car. You can hear the fuel pump running and also the radiator fan. You can try to disconnect the 1 pin temperature sender that is located on the throttle body to see if you problem remains. potatonet 0 Posted September 20, 2006 I have a G60, no VR6 here, no black box with fuses in front of expansion tank. changed the fuel pump relay, also getting a new battery, my battery has a dead cell in it. thanks guys, this should fix the problem, if not I will holler back.
