AB 0 Posted October 17, 2006 hi could someone confirm something for me. i am removing my power steering system as part of my engine bay tidy. does a non power steering rack from a mk2 fit on the corrado?? thanks
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted October 17, 2006 It would fit in but the column would need adjustment as the non power steering is shorter where the column meets to the rack.

davidwort 0 Posted October 17, 2006 so if i was to take the coloum from a golf as well would that work? thanks for your advice on this, 16v GTI's use the same rack as the early corrado, so I'd imagine you'd need a universal joint from the bottom of the steering column to the rack, off a manual rack golf. corrado will be very heavy with a manual rack though, there's a lot more weight up front than in a golf. CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted October 17, 2006 Not the hole column ,just the lower half you will need,UJ to UJ its longer and should slot onto your existing set-up.
AB 0 Posted October 17, 2006 yeah thought it would be heavy but willing to make that sacrafice, i dont use the car that much any way. (not really practical for the newly made family) my corrado isan early one as well.
