ziderapple 0 Posted October 25, 2006 Hi, for reasons I cannot explain (must have sensed a gremlin) before starting up the c this morning I thought I had bettter just check levels, and noticed a small split in the top coolant hose, so I limped to my local VW specialist so he could take a look and order in the correct hose - evidently an expensive bas***d - plus it split while he was looking at it firing coolant in his eye  (he's ok though!) So I have just ordered a set of Samco hoses :D (tried to order through g-werks but said would have to wait 5 weeks - sorry g man) found a supplier with a set on the shelf said they'll be here by tommorrow. anyway I still have the old black coolant cap on the expansion tank, as I'm spending money on the cooling at the mo do you guys think it would be worthwhile getting a later blue one? Cheers. Chris.
CazzaVR 0 Posted October 25, 2006 Yep- it's a cheap part that can cause probs. Defo worth changing. Get a proper VAG one though.
