minty 0 Posted November 29, 2006 Hi everyone. I've just bought a 1995 'M' plate CVR6 as my daily runner while my Mk3 Golf VR is being converted to big turbo 1.8T power. My question is regarding the oil temp. I'm comparing the findings with the Corrado to what i know from running my Golf VR. The oil takes around the normal amount of time to register on the gauge, a couple of miles normal driving form cold. Now the worrying thing is the oil temp on the M'way. I was sitting at a steady 80-90mph last night and the oil temp was reading as high as 124-126 degrees. Now to me that sounds far too high, as the Golf would very rarely go above 102 degrees even on a very spirited drive. Is this a normal characteristic of the Corrado VR, or do i have a problem? Water temp sits just a fraction above the 90 degree mark and the fan kicks in briefly at just above this level. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. nocrap 0 Posted November 29, 2006 Water temp looks normal, 126* seems very high. Change the temp sender first though before starting anything mechanical
minty 0 Posted November 29, 2006 Thanks, any other further suggestions?
double-6s 0 Posted November 29, 2006 The Rado is pretty much definately gonna run hotter than the golf vr due to the lack of space in the engine bay, but not THAT much higher.
