jimmy p 0 Posted December 13, 2006 I bought my VR6 about 2 weeks ago, i've done about 600 miles since then and had to top it up with oil twice! Both times its been on the minimum mark and i topped it up to maximum. I've had a look for a leak and apart from a couple very minor ones that i can't see being a problem the engines clean. There is also not much smoke coming out the exhaust, only a bit when i first start the engine and when its cold. Also i changed the plugs the other day there was some oil on them. Could this be the valve stem oil seals? :? I hope its not piston rings!
kongo127 0 Posted December 13, 2006 Well... I´m pretty sure that this is not a normal situation. I suggest a compression test to eliminate the piston rings and valve seals leak probablility. Although piston rings are my first bet, they wear faster than the valve seals. If it´s the piston rings, don´t get sad! You only have the car for 2 weeks, and being like that, you´ll notice a huge difference with new ones! :) So, go for the compression test before anything!
