jimmy p 0 Posted December 18, 2006 My VR6 has a strange noise that can happen anytime but it's mainly when its cold and when setting off in 1st gear or reverse, it does it sometimes though when i'm just parked up with the engine running. It lasts the same amount of time every time which isn't long so, that with it being intermittent is making it difficult to find out where its coming from! :x It sounds like a motor running and it vibrates the dash abit, can't make out if its under the bonnet or behind the dash some where, when it happens it only lasts about 3-4 seconds thens goes away! Its doing my feckin sweed in! :brickwall:
CazzaVR 0 Posted December 18, 2006 Have you got a solid front engine mount?
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted December 18, 2006 dose it do it when you just move off? will it do it again if you switch the ignition off and on again? Sounds like the ABS.
CazzaVR 0 Posted December 18, 2006 CorradoVR6-n.o.s, yeh, doesn't the ABS have a 'self test'? This is really evident on some Corrados but not on others. On a couple of my C's it's almost been like a 'scrape' when you first drive off.
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted December 18, 2006 That's exactly what I thought, sounds like the tyre rubbing on a plastic arch or something, took me ages to figure out what it was,but as you said its not so apparent on other raddos.
Critical_Mass 10 Posted December 20, 2006 Yeah ive heard that, was thinking it could be the wheel bearing. It sounds like a squeaking noise on mine.
