The_Dude 0 Posted January 7, 2007 Went to my car and found this..... Absolutely gutted. Got my 6x9s and sub and amp. Nearly cried! And now patched up: Do you reckon I should call a 24hr glass guy, or wait till tomorrow? Bear in mind I have £250 excess!
vr6storm 0 Posted January 7, 2007 your glass XS should be under £100 if you are Fully comp................it shouldn't get counted as a claim on your NCB either

mattosmond 0 Posted January 7, 2007 sorry to see this, what little c#nts..... if you do put new 6x9' in then screw them up under the parcel shelf and cut holes through.... with a layer of material over the top.... souns gash, but if you do it right will look oem... then the bast@rds wont be able to see what youve got! vr6storm 0 Posted January 7, 2007 from memory of when I had my BMW compact done in 1999......you should just need a crime number from the Police, then call your Ins company to find out who they have as an approved glass repairer, book it in then when you are booked in take your policy with you and the glass XS fee..........not sure if its per pane of glass or the whole lot of damage........like i said tho if you have fully comp you'll only have a small XS to pay..........this is totally different from your normal accident damage XS...........the only way it'll affect your normal insurance is if you claim for the stolen equipment(provided its been covered),I just bit the bullet and bought a new hi-fi when mine was stolen
The_Dude 0 Posted January 7, 2007 Luckily for me (is it?) I've got fully comp. This is the first year I've ever had it too, so its gonna be worth it. I'd only had the sub and amp in a week and hadn't got round to telling the insurers....doh! Got them from Egay so at least it wasn't a full price setup. I'm still mad, trying to drown my sorrows and take the pain away.
KADVR6 0 Posted January 7, 2007 little w*****s, keep your ear open for some cheap speakers mate, you may get lucky with finding them?? if your fully comp?? the excess should be no more than £75. tell them the front windscreen is cracked also. you could also get a new windscreen fitted at the same time, really feel for ya :( karl

Ad2408 0 Posted January 7, 2007 Thats why you can't have nice things anymore.... Too many f$%king jealous people about. Had my old Mk2 Golf done twice in about six months, once outside a hotel, once outside the cinema. Didn't bother replaceing it with decent stuff after that.  Ad

The_Dude 0 Posted January 7, 2007 its maybe the way this world is going..........but...........was the ebay seller local and genuine??? he was genuine, and wasn't local. i had parked opposite a bit of a nasty block of flats cos the road i usually park in ws full. what a difference 50 metres make when parking. cnuts indeed. steve_16v 0 Posted January 7, 2007 That's harsh, if fully comp you should have audio equipment protection up to a certain amount (£450 with elephant), don't think you need to have declared it to the insurer either unless it's worth more than that. Stuff like this happening is one of the many reasons I'm glad not to live in a city anymore, living in Manchester when at Uni I had my car broken into twice in the space of eight days, all they got were a few tapes I'd left in the glovebox, cost me £100 in excess payments ... feckers! Nowadays I occaisonaly forget to lock the car in town but never have to worry about anything being stolen (never remove the HU fascia and there's always change in the coin slots for parking aswell). was8v 0 Posted January 7, 2007 Oh dear. My housemate had a load of clothes strewn over his car, matalan jeans, a coat and some work shoes and someone smashed his window and robbed them. Police reckoned it was a tramp looking for new clothes. I just never EVER leave anything, not even "worthless" things like old jeans on display in my car and use a DISKLOK (those stoplock things are easy peasy to pop off). The bloke accross the road even goes as far as to not bother locking his old escort - reckons no one is going to want to nick it (engine immobiliser would make it tough for a joyrider) and would rather if someone wanted to get in it they didnt smash it up in doing so. Pretty sad state of affairs really but if you get into the habit of leaving nothing on display then nothing can go missing...
penfoldvr6 0 Posted January 7, 2007 Totallt gutted to see that some low life scum sucking a** hole would do this to some ones pride and joy....If I caught anyone doing that to my car i'd totally f***k em up!!!!
