AB 0 Posted January 12, 2007 hi just preping my 2.0ltr to replace my 1.8 i am doing the inlet cam mod but is there any gain and does it fit in if i use the KR exhaust cam as well? if it does pay to change that as well what has to be done? please and thankyou for any advice. Shaggy 0 Posted January 13, 2007 you may have to modify the cam at the chain side mate, i am not sure it fits in straight away...? i think you need to remove a bit of material so that it fits into the end bearing cap... not 100% on this, just try and offer the inlet cam onto the head and make sure it fits before you put it all together. 8)
CazzaVR 0 Posted January 13, 2007 No gain at all by changing both- the KR and 9A exhaust cams are identical. Just change the inlet, or, alternatively you can swap the 9A inlet for an exhaust cam. This will give more power than just swapping the inlet, but it will need modification + idle can be a bit rough. Not really worth it imho.
AB 0 Posted January 13, 2007 ok cheers. will stick with just the inlet at the mo then.
AB 0 Posted January 13, 2007 just been thinking just wondering what is the modification to fit the exhaust cam into the inlet???
CazzaVR 0 Posted January 14, 2007 Think it's the chain wheel that needs to be machined in some way. Stealth do it- they may even already have some made up for exchange.

AB 0 Posted January 16, 2007 spoke to vince at stealth unfortunatly they dont do this any more. does anyone know what exactly i have to do? i belive i have to machine a woodruff key into the end of the exhaust cam but i am not sure if it matters where i machine it.
