Andy665 0 Posted January 25, 2007 ...I've been approached by a finance company to become their National Account Manager. They want me to drive a new car but are being very flexible - allowance or company car the choice is mine. Monthly allowance is negotiable but if I go down the company car route they've said I can have anything I want as long as the invoice price (therefore allowing me to get a deal on something more expensive) is no more than £30k. After immediately thinking along the lines of R32, Passat R36 etc I've decided to be more sensible and think about the tax implications of driving a big petrol engined car - its just not worth it financially. The problem I have is that the car that appeals to me most is the Alpina D3 - never thought I'd be attracted to a diesel BMW. Looks better than any other current 3 series and performance should be pretty good. Heres a review http://alpina-automobiles.com/downloads ... o_0806.pdf Any thoughts? mattosmond 0 Posted January 25, 2007 that looks very nice! Don't they do a 330 diesel.... that one apparently goes like poo off a shovel.... nice allowance also! :) here it is: bmw330d at £31k you might get a deal on one! plus 0-60 in 6.6sec.... thats amazing for a diesel, hardly worht bothering with a petrol
Andy665 0 Posted January 25, 2007 The four cylinder is reckoned to be much better balanced and tax wise its less costly
steve_16v 0 Posted January 25, 2007 I say go for it, that alpina looks lovely, and 47.9mpg combined is quite frankly amazing from an engine with 302 lb ft and 197bhp.
