RS VR6 0 Posted February 5, 2007 The VR can take somewhere around 500whp Most people will use a thicker headgasket A tranny off a 4cyl will not bolt up to a 6cyl block
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 5, 2007 1 how much boost on a standard engine and what power? safely Safe =15psi ~ 400hp. The engine can hold more, but the gearbox is the weak link. 15 psi should hold for ages so long as you're sensible in the lower gears in the dry. 2 how do i lower the compression fat head gasket ? shorter rods ? or change the pistons ? Forged low CR pistons best for high hp, stock pistons OK up to about 400-450hp. Stock rods have held 600hp. Good spacer gaskets work well. 3 does the vr6 fit on the o2m 6 speed box with 4x4 tranfer fitted . O2M from 24V cars fits, but needs various modifications to gearbox and front engine mounts.
