herisites 0 Posted February 5, 2007 Hi guys, I need some help if possible with my parents 2001 Audi A4 2.5 Tdi Quattro. The battery keeps going flat every now and then, its fine for a little while and then one morning it will be totally dead. They had it diagnosed at a local garage and it came up with the alternator so they put a new one in and it was fine for a little while but now its started going dead again. So does anyone have any ideas what it could be? Cheers, Rob.
herisites 0 Posted February 5, 2007 Does anyone have any ideas why it could be doing this?? Or does anyone quite near me have VAG-COM to hook up to it (would this work?)?
craigowl 0 Posted February 5, 2007 I am no expert, but I would try that tip described on the forum somewhere, herisites. It goes something like: " take out fuses one by one while battery is connected to multimeter. When the fuse linked to the culprit component is removed, the multimeter reading will markedly respond." Seems that radio/cd etc players installed aftermarket are often the culprits. Use search with battery/flat etc. Good luck
herisites 0 Posted February 5, 2007 Cheers craigowl :) i dont think its to do with the radio/cd as its all original being the parents car. I will try the fuse idea and see where that gets me. Any other help would still be nice :D
