noworrys 0 Posted February 20, 2007 Need urgent help! Does anybody here know anything about the timing on a 1.8 16v Rado that has high lift cams? i left the car into a guy to get the timing belt changed and since i got it back its not running right.. when i let off the power, the rev's die on the car and she cuts out.. would anybody here know the actual timing/cam settings needed to correct this problem? im told it either has to be set forward a toot or back one, does anybody have any clue as to what needs to be done? all help appreciated. Crasher 3 Posted February 20, 2007 Presumably you mean ignition timing? It is set as original (6 degrees BTDC) but the red/black connector under the coil must be separated with the engine running before you can set it. The fact the timing has changed after a timing belt is worrying, either he has set the ignition timing incorrectly or the valve timing is now different (not necessarily wrong) to what it was before. noworrys 0 Posted February 20, 2007 Thats the problem, unfortunatley i dont know exactly what im talking about.. All he done was replace the belt (only the belt, tensioner being done as soon as it arrives) and since the belt was changed the car is acting like i said in previous post. Thanks for your advice, ill make sure and ram that down his throath when i see him tommorow.
