skinnyman9000 0 Posted February 20, 2007 I've recently acquired a new project (dont worry, the Rado is still staying). I've never been able to have a second car as a project, so im really looking forward to sinking my teeth into this one! Its a H reg Escort XR3i. Totally standard, 36k miles, and 1 lady owner from new. Here is how far i got this weekend. It doesnt look like much, but we took all the interior out too, and the car has been sat for 4yrs+ so every single bolt was a mission! Unfortunately when we removed the front bumper we found this: So, what does everyone think? About the damage, and the project in general?

It has some cosmetic rust on the rear outer arches. Once the front end is sorted, and the engine is running this lil baby will be worth a fair whack. One was for sale on passionford, with 101k, for £1400, so when this is sorted it'll be worth £2k+

To date the most manual thing i've done to my car was change the wheels! So i wanna do as much as i possibly can myself, besides, you dont know how much it cost me to get hold of
Talc 0 Posted February 20, 2007 besides, you dont know how much it cost me to get hold of  200 ciggies and a working lighter?!? standard ford type price :D seriously though, good luck with it, looks like you'll be quite proficient at rust repair after this.... The above RS is quite nice though, been thinking abt another one again, they are very hard to resist They go for that. Everyone looked after the RS Turbos, as a result the XR3i's got ignored, been offered £1500 when its done, and thats looking at how it is now without seeing the finished result!
