Changing inlet manifold from 42mm to 50mm??

Recommended Posts

I want to change my inlet manifold from the standard 42mm to the bigger 50mm on my 2.0 16v.

Is it a straight forward swap or do i need anything else? I will be changing the throttle body to a 1.8 16v one which has been ported and gasflowed

Cheers Rhodri

gaskets are quite expensive, about £10 each i think.

Remove injectors when the engines warm, they come out easy then

I flowed my old 50mm one, you prob wont feel any difference.

The head to manifold gaskets are the same whether 42mm or 50mm

Did you flow and port yours yourself if so is it easy because i just dont have the skills to do it myself if its difficult. :(
