Majik 0 Posted October 29, 2003 Nah i really do like audi handles and was drooling over them at the Woburn meet but i do want to retain the original looks of the car too so standard handles stay. i wish the donor car had the red dash and carpet i woulda been laughing! dubprince im gonna keep the price of the interior secret for now :) So who's car is that in the avatar? dubbprince 0 Posted November 5, 2003 mate..you havin the number plate recess flushed on front bumper?? If so..let me know how yours turns out and how much they'd ask for me to do that. Mine has already had a bit of a re-spray, de-seemed too...but i need the rear badge re-doing as the prevous bodyshop has buggered it up and just filled it! not welded it and lead filled it. comin on nicely...keep the pics comin.
Majik 0 Posted November 5, 2003 mate..you havin the number plate recess flushed on front bumper?? no cause im going to flush the newer bumper where i get it! The number plate stays on the front bumper as there isnt much space to put it elsewhere, i didnt see whether he just filled it or welded it but i'll ask him when he's back at work
Bally 0 Posted November 5, 2003 I was about to ask how the cars coming along.. Maj, didn't you want a late spec bonnet?? I no you plan on keep it OE as possible.. but it would suit a later one IMO.. :)
Blair 0 Posted November 6, 2003 Babrul the cost is around £750, bearing in mind its not a bare metal That still strikes me as an incredibly good price :) Nice one - mine actually has a little less damage and I wouldn't be after de-seaming and de-badging, but I was quoted £1200 by the local place, and that wasn't even a full respray!!! I might start shopping around then, could be worth investigating it again... Anyone know any good value (decent quality) bodyshops in the Warwick/Leamington/Coventry area? jedi-knight83 0 Posted November 6, 2003 oh happy days!!!! i had a total respray on my CRX, i cant say i ever want to go through it again with another car!!! too much hassle and too expencive!!! it looks great when its finished though... for about a month untill you get stone chips...etc.
Majik 0 Posted November 6, 2003 Depends on the location and the type of bodyshop it is, my brother owns a garage in the same block so we kinda know them, thats why he sorted out a good price for me. Personally i hate the tell tale signs after resprays like overpaint, dodgy paint (orange peel) and cracking filler but i also hate colour mismatch on panels hence i decided to respray the car. I want to go over the yellow paint with thinner and get the crap off!
Majik 0 Posted November 11, 2003 More progress today, the car has been sprayed finally im not sure which stage its at, i think the laquer still has to be done but apart from that its nearly finished
