JonnyDub 0 Posted March 10, 2007 Please excuse my extremely inferior knoledge but I have just bought my first corrado and am loving every minute except I have encountered a creaking noise at the rear near side wheel whilst driving at any speed but only when I have passenger/s in the back. Can anyone advise please? Also can anyone recommend any VW specialists in Cardiff. Cheers.
2_Door_fun 0 Posted March 12, 2007 Hi. Does the car have lowered or new suspension? If so the lower bolts on the rears should only be tightened when the full weight of the car (infact any car) is sitting on the floor. So the lower bolts may well jsut need loosening off a touch. Then jack up the rear and lower it to the floor. The shockers naturally will find the correct sitting point and sit there. Now just tighten up the bolt...Jobs a good en. Have fun in the C and on the forum. :-P
JonnyDub 0 Posted March 12, 2007 Thanks for the reply. Probably should have added this at the start. The C is all original '91 1.8 16v with 132,000 miles.
Toad 0 Posted March 12, 2007 Didn't know that.... That probably explains why mine is making funny noises..

JonnyDub 0 Posted March 13, 2007 Have you used them before? Walesy? If so what did they do for you?
Walesy 0 Posted March 13, 2007 I used them years ago before I moved out of the area, I woudn't recomend them if I hadn't had personal experience of their work. They aren't cheap, but they're trustworthey and work well, they were by far the best place I found to work on my cars having lived in Cardiff for 24 years.
