Slimg60 0 Posted March 22, 2007 Would it be possible/worthwhile fitting motors to the top of my coilovers to adjust the harshness of them remotely? I'm fed up with having to stop everytime I find a decent enough road to have a bit of fun  Has anyone tried this or heard of it being done? Mark_Storm 0 Posted March 23, 2007 I have heard of this and it is definately possible but don't know where you could get them, might just have to google it
coolrado 0 Posted March 23, 2007 how much force is reqired to turn the adjusters and how much of a range of movement do they require?
Slimg60 0 Posted March 23, 2007 it's several turns for complete range of movement, not a lot of force either. I've been talking to a electronics wiz at work who said it should be fairly easy, using hi-torque motors.
Yandards 0 Posted March 23, 2007 I believe some suspension companies actually supply remote adjustment kits.
GazzaG60 0 Posted March 23, 2007 Tein do these kits for there setups. my mate installed one on a subaru a while back.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 23, 2007 Koni used to do electronically adjustable dampers and you got a nice little control panel for the dash to go with them. My mate's Merc CL500 also has stepper motors on top of his dampers, so the technology is definitely there. I like the idea of Audi's magnetic fluid dampers, but I bet they're not cheap! Koni's new FSD dampers are good aswell, but they don't do them for older cars.

Electronics? - Are you saying my idea of a series of intricate plastic pulleys, old shoelaces, olympic trained gerbils and extra mature cheddar won't work?
