Why wait for flashing temp light

Recommended Posts

Hi

First thing in the morning, turn ignition on, temp light flashes.

If I move key to the next stage, the engine does not crank.

If I wait for the temp flashing light to stop, then the engine cranks straight away.

Has anybody experienced this.

Is there a reason for this ?

Have you got the temp light at the top of your temp gauge and analogue milometer? If so, the light is suppose to flash when you turn the ignition on. It's like a sort of self test. Shouldn't affect the starting of the car though.

Thnk it's just the dashboard. It's to make sure the important bulbs haven't blown.

I wonder if it could be your alarm/immobiliser stopping you from starting straight away?
