mattkh 0 Posted April 3, 2007 Hi First thing in the morning, turn ignition on, temp light flashes. If I move key to the next stage, the engine does not crank. If I wait for the temp flashing light to stop, then the engine cranks straight away. Has anybody experienced this. Is there a reason for this ?
dr_mat 0 Posted April 3, 2007 It's the gremlins I tell ya. They don't like the mornings.
Toad 0 Posted April 3, 2007 Have you got the temp light at the top of your temp gauge and analogue milometer? If so, the light is suppose to flash when you turn the ignition on. It's like a sort of self test. Shouldn't affect the starting of the car though.
mattkh 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Yep. Who carries out this self test, the ECU ?
Toad 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Thnk it's just the dashboard. It's to make sure the important bulbs haven't blown. I wonder if it could be your alarm/immobiliser stopping you from starting straight away?
G60-NeedMoorePoower 0 Posted April 7, 2007 I've had this -temp light seems to come on long after it was started, but actual temp readout on gauge was ok.... there's no pattern of when it occurs, I have yet to resolve it...
