rev limit 16v 1.8

what is the rev limit on a 1.8 16v as it seems since buying the car i have had g60 clocks on...

Yeah, its about 7200-7300rpm

would that mean that i have been short shifting my c as the red in the clocks i have starts at 6500rpm or is the clock just inaccurate...

7440, you can do the MFA check thingy here, clocks should go to 8k.

Mine seem to go on forever, i always change before hitting the limit due to the engine screaming at me!

i was just guessing from when a rr took it to the limit

 

red starts 6.5 ish and clock go to 8k on the 1.816v

 

although mine has dual lcd unlike the early ones and the late ones dont have 8k and do have dual lcd

Rev Limit what one of them LOL!!!

 

Whan I had my Valver, With a flowed head and cams it would rev past 8K!!!

my sig from rr days says 5500-5900

would this be optium shift point?

you need to aim for the rev to be at around 5500rpm AFTER you have shifted really so your is the "power band" again

still with a g60 the clock goes to 7000 and the red starts at 6500 how will this affect the valver ?
