Awesome, awesome car - mate bought it in preference to an Aston V8 Vantage, faster, better equipped, rarer, better handling and a fair bit cheaper.

 

Crap build quality but who cares when you have a 7 litre dry sumped V8 to play with, looks and exhaust note to die for and stupidly low running costs (excluding depreciation and fuel of course).

 

Suprisingly small, about same size as a 997 I reckon.

 

If anything spoils it its the fact that the chassis is clearly struggling to cope with the power, the engineers have clearly set it up to be great on a track as comfort is not that great - sacrifice I would be prepared to make though

Was behind one of these in Wandsworth when it got sideswiped by a truck. It was pretty hairy, the back wheels got lifted off the ground, I bet the blonde on the passenger seat was screaming! The corvette was on the left and so low down that I don't think the driver saw it, probably a good thing he was on work insurance, the bill can't have been cheap.

I was looking at the performance figures of these in EVO magazine and they are absoltely silly. Far faster than some so called supercars.

You wanna know the worst thing Andy, you're mate can make his road car sound EXACTLY like the race car if he wants to. It's only a performance exhaust away.

 

On a loosely related subject, Practical Performance Car's cover car this month is an Escort Cossie that some guy got bored with and swapped the asthmatic 4-pot YB turbo engine for an LS1 (Z05 Corvette) lump. 500bhp/500lb torque and rear wheel drive. Apparently the engine/gearbox pretty much just drops into the engine bay.... fabulous...
