I have changed the steering rack and rod ends on my vr, how do i get the track rod ends adjusted good enough to get the car to my nearest garage to be correctly adjusted (6miles away) do i get the wheel just to look like they are straight or is the a measurement i can refer to? Crasher 3 Posted July 11, 2007 The left hand track rod MUST be set to 406-mm +/- 1-mm whilst off the rack and then never adjusted. All adjustments must be made on the right hand track rod. As for getting it roughly set to parallel, use a piece of wood across each tyre face and measure between them to make sure the distance is equal.
