Stan 24v 0 Posted July 26, 2007 Sorry for posting about a MK4 on here mods, but the MK4 forum is so bloody slow its untrue  and more people here seem to know what theyre talking about than the other places anyway  Anyway, my mate has a 2.0 GTi MK4 and is having some issues with it. Here are the codes: VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N Control Module Part Number: 06A 906 018 ED Component and/or Version: 2.0l R4/2V MOTR HS V04 Software Coding: 00031 Work Shop Code: WSC 00078 3 Faults Found: 16518 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1: No Activity P0134 - 35-00 - - 17536 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Mult): System too Lean P1128 - 35-00 - - 16523 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S2: Response too Slow P0139 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent There is a thin (3-4 mm)pipe at the front top of the engine which feeds backwards into the intake manifold, and it is loose. If I pull it off I can hear the air being sucked in, and the engine runs a bit smoother. Not sure what it is or does though?????? The Lambdas are reading 0% and 3.9% constantly too. Anyone got any ideas? I think the lambdas could be knackered, but that pipe could be the cause, but Im not sure what it does.
Crasher 3 Posted July 27, 2007 Change the lambda sensor and possibly the leads/plugs as well. This is very common on the 2L 8v.
Stan 24v 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Leads, plugs and coil changed in last 6 months. MAF changed a year ago. Im going with lambda, bank 1  Im also still struggling to see how the 2.0 can be classified as a GTi!!!!!!     It has to be "THE" worst ever GTi!!" They didn't call that model a GTi on the continent iirc. I think it was just rip off Britain called it a GTi.
