dudemc 0 Posted August 12, 2007 Hi there i have just purchased a 1991 corrado 2.0 16v. The prev owner told me that it sometimes has a problem starting due to a worn ignition barrel. He said when this happens turn the ignition into the starting position so that all the ignition lights are on and then pop the bonnet and use a piece of wire from the batterie to the starter motor and it fires the engine up. When i turn the key after i dissable both immobiliser the ignition lights come on but the engine does not turn over not at all. It is just silent? The prev owner told me that he changed the ignition switch already but that did not fix it and then someone advised him that it was the ignition barrel that was worn and needed changing. I personaly dont think this sounds right! Has anyone ever heard of this problem before? Please any help would be great. I just dont know what to do.
