iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted August 20, 2007 Hi all , not sure if this is a big issue ill do my best to explain as i have no pics as yet! as you look at the cam cover and go right with your eyes past the oil vent on right hand side down the side of the head you meet one of the oil feed braided pipes keep going down the head untill the head meets the block and clutch/gearbox housing! this housing has two cylindrical holes on the top facing up so i can see either the clutch or fly whell sorry a bit vague can someone help or post pic as to hat should go in these holes? Cheers Andy
bristolbaron 10 Posted August 20, 2007 I believe the technical answer is a plastic timing cover thingy. Should be cheap from VW.. dont know how much of a problem it is if its missing though, as it stops crap getting in the engine..
sim0n_parker 0 Posted August 20, 2007 my old mk1's had like a plastic bung in there, but then again my last mk1 didnt have it there, its basicly just a dust cover, im not sure if my g60 has it there ill go and check and let you know later mate. not a major matter of life or death really so dont lose sleep over it, but id get one in there sooner rather then later mate as it stops water/coolent if you have a sudden leek going down the hole and contaminating your clutch. simon
