filski 0 Posted August 29, 2007 hi, i have an 2.0 L 8v Auto from '94. after a recent trip to Europe and nearly 3500 miles, i have noticed a sluggish start when pulling off from the lights or stand still. it feels like the gears aren't engaging stright away, but only pulling off in 1st. there is about a 1-2 second delay before the car moves..can it be like the clutch is slipping ( not sure what clutch is has as it's an auto)? any ideas? Crasher 3 Posted August 29, 2007 Have it fault code scanned as it is an AG4 type 096 electronic box and also check the ATF fluid level. Have a garage check the level of the final drive oil or do it yourself if you have access to a 17-mm hex (Allen) key and you can get the car in the air, but it must be level. If the final drive oil is above the fill level, you have a problem with the seal between the two sections of the box. This isn't too serious if the final drive oil is drained off and refilled and the ATF level topped up but you will need to have this done periodically.
