Jim 2 Posted September 8, 2007 And of course the tragedy of it all is that, with all that motor racing history, the new M3 will mostly just be bought by rich estate agents simply because it is the top spec 3 series.. and not because of its ability, history, or anything else like that. Sigh. Awesome collection of cars there though mate.. thanks for sharing those! :) Got a real soft spot for the E46 M3 CSL!
veedub 0 Posted September 8, 2007 Some beautiful stuff there. I love the M6 CSL. Is it just me or does the new M3 look a little 'soft'? On another thought, what is the old beemer in the film4 advert breaks? thats stunning!

It's no longer a racer for the road in any way whatsoever. A great shame. The E30 M3 is definately the best handling car I've driven.

I was having the same conversation about the M3s at E38 with Junkie. the M badge is no longer a sign of a proper drivers car and has turned more into a status symbol. waste of time really! Jim 2 Posted September 9, 2007 Have never even had the chance to drive an M3. Keep debating hiring one for a day just so I can see what they're all about, and to get some experience of RWD!
vr6storm 0 Posted September 9, 2007 cracking pics of awesome motors...................tho the M1 was well before the M5 in the scheme of things so really the M5 had an update of the M1's engine :) ,also the "batmobile" wasn't known as a M6 as the 6 series which replaced it was the first to have the M6 moniker........tho IIRC it was never badged M6 but M635csi
