timg60 0 Posted September 19, 2007 Just a quick one. Any idea why the bushes on my droplinks would be shot after 2 years and about 10k? Replaced with febi items. Would they be the reason? Just seems a bit odd for them to be shot already.............. :?
carpy25 0 Posted September 19, 2007 did you tighten then fully only when the car was back on its wheels ? if not then maybe they were under tension at rest that would put a more than normal stress on the up stroke or down stroke of the strut just me thinking out loud Rob
timg60 0 Posted September 19, 2007 So to just check. Fit the drop links with the car up. then tighten them when the car is sitting on all 4 wheels. Got to be a pita surly :D
double-6s 0 Posted September 20, 2007 mate you should try Alfa Romeo suspension bushes! 2 years would be considered a long time on an alfa!
timg60 0 Posted September 20, 2007 So 2 years would be about right then :(
coolrado 0 Posted September 20, 2007 are they visibly shot or are they effecting the handling? also which bushes, the ones in the ring at the top of the droplinks or the ones either side of the wishbone? is there a build up of rust on the roll bar, wishbones or the drop links that could have caused chafing on the bushes?
