Why would arb bushes die after 2 years??

Recommended Posts

Just a quick one. Any idea why the bushes on my droplinks would be shot after 2 years and about 10k?

Replaced with febi items. Would they be the reason?

Just seems a bit odd for them to be shot already.............. :?

did you tighten then fully only when the car was back on its wheels ? if not then maybe they were under tension at rest that would put a more than normal stress on the up stroke or down stroke of the strut

just me thinking out loud

So to just check. Fit the drop links with the car up. then tighten them when the car is sitting on all 4 wheels.

Got to be a pita surly :D

are they visibly shot or are they effecting the handling?

also which bushes, the ones in the ring at the top of the droplinks or the ones either side of the wishbone?

is there a build up of rust on the roll bar, wishbones or the drop links that could have caused chafing on the bushes?
