piston diameter on rear original calipers

Recommended Posts

would love to help, but have no C to take apart. Have had the pins out before mind.

Are you looking to buy some Mk4 pins or already have them (pins normally come with carriers)? The originals are just a very snug fit, just enough space to fill it with lube. If anyone does measure them, just be mindfull of the flat spots.

racking my brain... I might have some spare front ones (with carriers of which are no use to you) ... these maybe the same? It's length and diameter you'd be worried about. Sorry to not be of more help.

i was going to buy a seal kit to service my mk 4 calipers and the corrado one was the same, which got me thinking thats all. Cheers for the replies.

tiny tip too; as I found once I scrubbed up the existing pins and put on new rubber sleeves; remember to hold the pin-head-nut with an open spanner when you tighten up the screw. As it can often rotate and the rubber snarls up / splits - lets water in and back to square one. However, this probably wont happen when putting new on, because there will be so much lube splurting out - dont let it hit the pads/discs.
