Alternator reconditioning in the west midlands?

Hi All,

 

Can anyone recommend somewhere to recondition my VR6 alternator in the West Midlands? Preferably close to Redditch. Needs a new diode pack, as the B+ stud is properly rusted up. Might also consider changing it myself, new alternator from the factors is ~£140 and I'd rather save my pocket money for more exciting things )

Give him a ring first as he's not always there on a saturday. And when he is it's only until about 12. Its only a tiny place that looks like a shed at the side of the road. You'd think he was really not doing well looking at the shed and he drives a corsa to work, but the rest of the time he has a top of the range E-Class. Quite amusing really. But be prepared he'll talk the hind legs off a donkey!

Yep, gave him a ring to get price etc. and see if he had the parts in.

 

I'm sending my Dad along to drop it off who is also fond of a natter so we shall see how they get along!
