tallpaul1977 0 Posted November 1, 2007 Last night was pulling away from work, when I heard a klunk coming from the corrado. You can move the gear shift in to any gear, but nothing happens. Have checked the selector cables and they move when the gear shift is moved. You can put the corrado into any gear without having the clutch down without it crunching. Has the slave gone in the gearbox?
vwdeviant 0 Posted November 1, 2007 And by "pulling away" what do you mean Paul? ;) Sounds "internal" TBH
tallpaul1977 0 Posted November 1, 2007 Wasnt giving it large! Could it be clutch?
stevef182 0 Posted November 1, 2007 im not great mechanically but maybe the gear linkages have snapped?? happened in my mk 2 and had exactly the same symptoms!
vwdeviant 0 Posted November 2, 2007 Paul, how's the clutch pedal feel? Does it still have pressure? Could be release bearing.. or something "Internal" in the box. If you can get both wheels off the ground try spinning them by had and see if Diff's ok...
tallpaul1977 0 Posted November 2, 2007 Had the corrado up on a ramp today and i have managed to break the passenger side driveshaft in half! Im not even running full power yet! Can anyone recommend a company for uprated driveshafts?

Can anyone recommend a company for uprated driveshafts? Holy CR@P! IIRC you can get the stock one's "treated" to toughen them up... Glad it's a 'simple' fix though and not a gear-box.. (yet!) tallpaul1977 0 Posted November 2, 2007 spoke to Darren at gwerks and the normal g60 driveshaft should be fine. If the rest of the car is to go by, they (i wont slag off a very well know vw specialist) probably put knacked driveshafts on. Going to use a standard g60 driveshaft again and see how it goes. Im hoping for around 290bhp, so I should be ok. As for the gearbox john, its getting rebuilt soon, with my new lsd and vr6 gears. Does anyone know if there are any differences between g60 driveshafts? are they the same no matter what year? if someone has etka and can have a look, i will be very grateful
