SteveB_VW 0 Posted November 10, 2007 Hi, Used to use this site a while ago under a different name, (Steve B) but cant log in for some reason.., anyhow im re-registered and wondered if someone could shed a little light on the following... Is there any way to test the functionality of a coil pack? Car is a 94 VR6, 72K, problem is that it will not start at all. Cranks fine, battery is in tip top condition. Fuel pump relay is clicking in and out when the engine cranks, ive had the relay out and bypassed it, pump runs up fine, engine still wont fire. Had a plug out, and no spark! Only thing i can think is that the coil pack is dead, as i have noticed it arcing slightly a year or so back in damp weather, thought it could have been on its way out then... So bascially i was wondering if anyone knows of any way i can test the little beauty, any readings i should be getting between pins etc etc, I dont mind buying a new one, but i have a feeling that if it turns out not to be the problem, that VW wont be taking it back... Any help would be great - also im in the Fareham area if anyone has the luxury of VAG com, ive heard that may be of use in diagnosing the problem? Thanks in advance, Cheers Steve
