ardandy 0 Posted December 6, 2007 £230 for a new MAF sensor!!!!!!!!! What do VW think we're made of? Tried GSF and they don't sell them. :( Those dealers should wear stripey tops and a balaclava! Robbing barstewards! Rant over.
vwdeviant 0 Posted December 6, 2007 £217 EX VAT! for a 9a ISV! £25.00 PER LEAD for plug leads and no4 doesn't have knock sensor on it!
BeavisJem 0 Posted December 6, 2007 Just to add to this VW want £585 for a slam panel. Oh and if you want to replace the bolts they use for the suspension strut to hub it will cost you £5 per bolt
dr_mat 0 Posted December 6, 2007 MAF sensor? If you've a late VR GSF do them, look under the VW Sharan VR6 parts, they have them for about £60.

I thats £20 for fronts and £10 for rear. rediculous! GSF told me just to go buy them from a B&Q or like. Cost me less then a tenner for 4 bolts and nuts for the front. M12s but needed shortening a tad.

Supercharged 2 Posted December 6, 2007 Get MAF sensors directly from Bosch - £150 exchange WTF! £5 for one bolt. I thats £20 for fronts and £10 for rear. rediculous! Thats not right, I've bought loads before and they are a couple of quid max with the nut - I'd be very worried about using B&Q ones unless they say 12.9 on them!!! A couple of quid from VAG bolts and nuts? The ones i bought from B&Q fit snug, just a tad long. Had no issues with them, i checked them after a month or so and they were still as tight as they were when i first fitted them.
Supercharged 2 Posted December 6, 2007 It's the tensile strength i'm worried about, most I have seen in B&Q is 8.8 - VW use 10.9 on brake components and 12.9 on Suspension!
dr_mat 0 Posted December 6, 2007 A 93K? According to them (after I gave them my reg) they can't get hold of them. Coilpack cars only, don't think a 93K has the same MAF so, sorry, you'll have to pony up the readies..

Ah.. cheers Supercharged. I'll look into getting some from VAG. Did you say they were a couple of quid for each bolt AND nut from VAG?
Supercharged 2 Posted December 6, 2007 Yep - you could try a specialist bolt place but they won't be much cheaper plus you will get the wrong socket size and not the built in shoulder plus anti-corrosion coating...

Critical_Mass 10 Posted December 8, 2007 Cheers guys, noted. I'll get some ordered from VAG Why would GSF say do that then!?
nocrap 0 Posted December 8, 2007 Cheers guys, noted. I'll get some ordered from VAG Why would GSF say do that then!? Because, knowing GSF, they probably thought you were wanting to buy parts for your dishwasher....
Supercharged 2 Posted December 9, 2007 Yeah, it's just bad advice really... Do you know what was actually fitted?? - if they were 4.8's I wouldn't even drive the car until changed!!!
Critical_Mass 10 Posted December 9, 2007 The bolts didnt come with packaging, so ive no idea. All i recall it saying in B&Q was M12. The car isnt been driven at the mo anyway as its in the garage. Saying that ill get some bolts ordered through the garage.
