2.0 16v overheating

Recommended Posts

Had my 92 J 16v Corrado a year now and concerned its overheating. Temp guage reads 110 degrees when idle. Fan does come on and cools it to 95 - 100. When on a journey and constant running guage can read anything between 90 - 110 depending on time of year and speeds (airflow). Recently had new thermostat fitted, head gasket gas test, new rad expansion cap and system flushed with new coolant but still it approaches 110. Car has had an after market air con fitted from new by first owner. Also timing and mixture has been checked. Any Ideas?

Hi mate, Is the fan coming on before it gets to 110deg? there's 2 stages on the fan, stage 1 should be on by 110deg. It could be that the rad fan switch is naffed?
