Jim Bowen 1 Posted January 25, 2008 my drivers side front wheel is a git to remove, wasn't always like this. you undo all the bolts and its stays on, until you give it a kick or a little knock etc. then to get it back on is a nightmare as the centre of wheel won't sit square on the hub till you have some bolts in and tighten them up. have cleaned up the hub and the face of wheel but its still a pest. how could this happen? surely the wheel hasn't deformed? Supercharged 2 Posted January 25, 2008 Maybe worth cleaning both surfaces with wet/dry paper and re-applying some copper grease... Then if still having issues maybe check the wheel and hub with vernier calipers
dr_mat 0 Posted January 25, 2008 Sounds like the hub is a little out of round.. Not much you can do about it short of replacing the hub (or use a lump hammer..). Mate of mine had a 3-series BMW where the wheels would rust onto the hub. You could literally remove all the wheel bolts and drop the car back onto the wheel - it wouldn't budge.. That wasn't hard to re-fit the wheel though, just remove it.
