steve_16v 0 Posted January 26, 2008 On the way home last night my radiator top hose developed a leak, much steam came from under the bonnet, temperatures went far too high, so I pulled over, let it cool down, put some water in and got it home. Anyway, whilst fitting a replacement this morning I noticed the bolt circled in the pic was hanging out :? Just wondering what it does really?
CazzaVR 0 Posted January 26, 2008 Don't think it's anything to worry about. Think it's just to keep the water pump/alternator bracket in place. This is one of the bolts you have to undo to get to the stat housing, if I remember correctly. Did it tighten back up OK?
Supercharged 2 Posted January 26, 2008 It just gees thru the alternator bracket and you loosen it to pivot when tensioning the alt belt. If it's ok just do it up and forget about it...
steve_16v 0 Posted January 26, 2008 Cheers fellas, good to know it's nothing important, the nut has fallen off somewhere so I'll pop out later and get a replacement
