AUTOMATIC OIL CHANGE

Recommended Posts

Yep, its a good idea to change the tranny fluid, filter and sump gasket. Fairly straightforward - remove the sump cover, making sure you tilt the cover towards teh back first, driain teh fluid into a container, remove the filter (just pulls off) replace with a new one, clean up the solenoid area, renew the sump gasket and close up. Measure how much fluid is drained and make sure you refill teh same amount again. You have to fill through the dipstick hole, which is situated deeper in the engine to the right of the engine block. It also has a red handle like teh oil dipstick.

Make sure you check the level with teh engine running and on a level ground.

Thanks for that Fla - you speak sense! How do you find it as an auto? My preference would have been a manual but a low mileage one with LHD screames 'buy me' and the rest is history! :D Any advice on HT leads and spark plugs?

As an auto, its not bad at all, i know most slate the auto box, but its quite easy effortless driving. Worst case, if the box fails, pull it out and chuck in a manual. Plus its quite rare, so if you want to sell on to a non-forum member its quite a good selling point, IF your autobox is functioning OK :)
