speedo stopped workin

driving home the other day and noticed the needle bouncing , looked 10 min later and and it had stopped workin alltogether. its a 9a 2.0 16v engine but its in a 1.8 16v car , any1 help . ???????????????

Possibly the distance sensor on the gearbox, causes the speedo to jump around and bounce, easy fix 2-min job and a new part from vag (£20 iirc) :D

 

If you use search you should find the part no. etc in previous posts 8)

 

EDIT: Oops, just read your other post if if it's a cable it probs won't be this :oops:
