Patch 0 Posted February 8, 2008 How easy is it to change the front engine mount on a G60? My engine is jupping about and has caused bonnet damage :(

just_say_meth 0 Posted February 9, 2008 It's reasonably easy, can be a bit tight slotting in a OE new mount but if you get a solid one they are easy to put in :D jack up car and secure Remove 15mm on top of mount 2nd jack under gearbox (use wood to support between jack and gearbox) and lift engine till it clears mount Remove the 17mm and the 13mm on underside of front cross member And finally remove the mount :D As the immortal words of haynes go, 'refitting is the reversal of removal' May not be how everyone does it but thats how I do
Patch 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Sorted it,pulled out the rad fan and to my horror i found a solid mount without a bolt in it!!!! Took a closer look, and found the bolt sat on top of the bracket, the bolt was fine and the thread in the the mount was fine, the bolt looked like it had not had any thread lock on it though.Got some on it and stuck it back in.All is well again. Just need to sort out the dent in the bonnet now :(
