Reggit 0 Posted February 15, 2008 Can't play vid for some reason, and know nothing about that motor, but from your description you may have an air leak on the inlet side somewhere or choke/cold start is sticking on. In both cases ballsing up the air/fuel ratio.
boost monkey 0 Posted February 15, 2008 yeah, you have a throttle body not a carb, but they do look similar so it's fair enough. My mk2 jetta used to do this, check all the little tiny vacuum pipes. You'd be surprised how much of a hissy fit an old engine will throw if the tiniest pipe isn't connected! Also worth checking your blue temp switch if you have one? Also, has it been running recently? If i left my Jetwagon for a while it would also throw a hissy fit and do what yours does and need a good drive. try some aerosol carb cleaner through it too.
