JamesS 0 Posted March 2, 2008 Can someone point out the mass air flow meter on this picture for me. I have been told it needs replacing and I would like to know if its something that I could do myself. Corrado Engine 001.jpg[/attachment:3vly84an] Thanks in advance. Toad 0 Posted March 2, 2008 Why were you told it needed replacing?
JamesS 0 Posted March 2, 2008 I bought the car on a whim a few months ago and it has had an intermittent problem with the revs just dropping out and then it stalls. I took it for a service at a local VW specialist and he said it would need the air flow meter replacing to fix the problem, he gave me the part number 051 133 471A but never came back to me with a price. I have done a bit of reading on the forums about people having similar problems and they say replacing the air flow meter has fixed the issue, so if possible I'd like to do it myself to save a bit on garage costs. Any help would be appreciated.

Supercharged 2 Posted March 2, 2008 The plunger thing - might be worth cleaning and maybe replaceing gasket but new ones are £loads...
JamesS 0 Posted March 2, 2008 Thanks for that, might explain why the vw garage didnt bother coming back to me with a price. Going by that diagram, I have marked where I think it is on this image, am I right? Corrado Engine 001.jpg[/attachment:obyah3uz]
