cheesey 0 Posted March 11, 2008 what are the consiquences of running the car with the lambda sensor unplugged why i had the exhaust build last saturday since the the cars been getting worse the car ticks over fine and runs ok untill your sitting at the lights or waiting in traffic go to pull away and it wont pull awaythen the revs build up little back fire and then you pull away got under the car and the sensor was loose and rattling around so took it back and the guy tighten it up said that should make a difference it has its now worse if i unplug the sensor it runs ok HELP cheesey Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
AlgarveVR6 0 Posted March 11, 2008 Check that the sensor is not fouling the heat sheild stuff and not shorting. You will get lousy fuel consumption too if it is. cheesey 0 Posted March 12, 2008 thanks for that ive just been to see about a new lambda at vw they say it should be a 5 wire plug but ive only got 4 the cars a 91 with cat the cat been removed also its got a second hand ecu on it would that make a difference or are they the same do you have to reset the ecu if you put a new sensor in if so HOW Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
