Martyn_McG 0 Posted April 11, 2008 is it common for vr's to leak from where the filter housing meets the engine? my rado keeps leaving its mark everywhere and as far as i can tell its that gasket . .
mariojoshi 1 Posted April 11, 2008 I believe mine is doing the same thing actually fella. My local mechanic said that the this is a common problem with VRs, the forum might be able to offer some insight into this aswell! When's she due for her next oil change? *i'm trying to get the diagram off vagcat to check out the arrangement of parts, but it doesn't seem to be working*
Martyn_McG 0 Posted April 11, 2008 its ok i had already ordered the gasket and 2 bolts needed to do it just to be on the safe side!! the gasket is about £6 and £2 each for new bolts from a vw dealership ( i dont like re using the old bolts!!) i had just recently changed the oil so im gonna try and save as much of it as i can when doing the repair!!
